During a Colonoscopy

A colonoscopy typically lasts anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour.

Step 01

You will lie on your left side bending your knees. IV line will be inserted and you will be asleep during the whole procedure

Step 02

Colonoscope is inserted into your rectum to detect abnormalities or changes in your colon

Step 03

If Dr Poh detects polyps or abnormal growths inside the colon, he is able to remove them

Step 04

You will wake up 1 to 2 hours later and you can be discharged on the same day

After a Colonoscopy

Some mild bloating or cramping may be present after the procedure but you should return to normal in a few hours. However, it is important to let your doctor know if you experience any unusual symptoms after the procedure.

Insurance

Integrated Shield Plans

For our patients with Integrated Shield plans with riders for private hospital coverage, Alpine Surgical Practice is able to help you with the application of the Letter of Guarantee (LOG) or Pre-Authorisation Certificates for cashless payment on the day of your procedure. In addition, we work with the Hospital or Surgical centres to do Electronic filing for your medical claims.

Advisor Partners

We understand that some of your insurance plans may come with deductible and co-insurance. Our insurance advisor partners will advise you on how to utilise your Medisave and your existing Corporate insurance to cover the deductible and co-insurance so that there is minimal cash outlay.

We also understand that with the increasing adoption of pay-per-use insurance policies with rise in premiums per claim, it is important to control costs. As such, Alpine Surgical Practice works with our partnering Day Surgery centers to cut down costs for minor procedures and scopes.
